Step by step procedures for completing refresher trainings.

I hope this will be helpful for those Indian Seafarers whose certificates are expiring. If any of your STCW documents expired or expiring prior completion of contract pls complete the certification prior joining. For Onboard staffs and those who are joining in Aug the documents stand valid for this contract.

COMPLETING E-LEARNING MODULE ON DG SITE

-Open DG shipping site

-Go to e-learning

- Select modular coursee

-Select enroll now option 

- Enter INDOS no. And  date of birth and select the course u want to do the e-learning programme for.

-Now verify the application 

-You will receive the mail from DG shipping for your login ID and password to proceed for e -learning programme.

-Login with the user id and password and start the e-learning programme.

- Complete face verification.

-Once required hours of e-learning is complete, you can apply for assessment in the assessment option.

-Complete the assessment of 45 Ques. with required passing marks.

-Once e-learning is complete, u can book the course in the institute. 


COURSE IN MTI

- Complete the refresher course online  with the MTI u booked the course from.


EXIT EXAM

-Once the course in MTI is complete,u can ask them to book the exit exam for u.

- Before appearing for exit exam u have to complete the mock test in the exit exam tab in DG shipping site.

- Select the Exit exam tab in DG shipping site and enter your INDOS no. and proceed.

- Select mock test and proceed.

- Accept all the options and appear for the mock test.

- Once mock test is complete inform MTI to book the exam.

- After the MTI books the exam, open the EXIT EXAM option on DG SITE at the exam time.

Enter INDOS no. And proceed .

- Complete the email address and phone number column and click proceed.

- Now follow the options on right side of page. 

- Once you complete the options refresh the window with the 'refresh button' in the options. 

- After that new tab with the exam name will appear.

- Select the tab and proceed with the exam.

- After face verification is completed exam.

 will continue with 30 Ques.

- Once exam result appears contact MTI for certification.

As you are well aware that the STCW 2010 amendments will be coming into force from 1/Jan/2017. Regarding upgradation of COC we would like to advise as below. Broadly speaking all our seafarers fall in the following categories:- 1. Seafarers whose COC is expiring on or before 31/Dec/2016 after completing 5 years of validity. 2. Seafarers whose COC is expiring EXACTLY ON  31/Dec/2016 even though their validity has not completed 5 years. Ex Completed revalidation in 2014 but COC valid only till 31/Dec/2016 instead of 2019 . Regarding Category 1 , the seafarers are expected to renew their COC and upgrade same to STCW 2010 under normal case (within 1 year of expiry).
